crappy marvel action figures
Submitted by Punisher on Thu, 2010-08-19 23:15is it just me or is there a PLASTIC SHORTAGE????
can such a thing be possible
i was looking at the $8.99 price tag of a crappy designed marvel action figure at a toy store
i mean are u serious?
they look like lego people and less acticulation
has marvel gone cheap?
its worth $1.99 not $8.99
the packaging costs more than the figure
cant believe i was once a fan boy who would debate over the essentials of an action figure
thankfully i've stopped buying useless plastic crap
men!
focus more on ur wives and girl friends
your damn plastic toys will out live and out exist u any day!!!
they such have an oprah show just on this top
My Husband Loves His Figures more than me
DeadPool the joke that can't die
Submitted by Punisher on Thu, 2010-08-19 23:08ok b4 all you dead pool fans start hissing and booing
this character has been "wolverine-ized" yes do you remeber when wolvy was in every damn book out there?
so was spidey as well
u have a demented OCCD character who can't die properly and it feels like the 90's Lobo thing all over again
yes he's getting his own movie as well
lets hope they stick with the good material not remake craps like the last wolverine movie which sucked
ps
jackie if ur reading this, please practice ur zombie survival skills it may come in handy one day lol
and for krissy's sake! u work in a comic book store so u shuld know what to do!
Will Online comics be the wave of the Future?
Submitted by Punisher on Thu, 2010-08-19 23:04this is a conundrum i've posted months back and yes it will happen
the price of $3.99 is absolutely ridiculous!
nobody is winning from this
if the publisher loses readers
the vendors lose customers
how is that a solution to an already straining problem?
yes print comics are a nice feel and collectible???
does that even exist anymore?
when ipads offers this week's Uncanny X-men for a .99 cents per read per book
i mean may want that instead of a $3.99 fix out of the pocket
this is the future folks
Radical Comics
Submitted by Punisher on Thu, 2010-08-19 23:00yes they have a $4.99 price tag but those books are pretty and and filled with good content
i was taken away by some of how good the material was for that price tag
are $4.99 on the horizon for marvel and DC?
only time will tell
if u give the fans more they wouldn't mind paying more for it
i mean 100 pages a month for $4.99 thats not bad
Marvel Universe vs Punisher
Submitted by Punisher on Thu, 2010-08-19 22:58ok i had high hopes of this one and had hoped it would match Ennis's Punisher Kills the MArvel Universe
but it does not
taken off the pages of marvel zombies
marvel characters become "cannibals" very original
and start eating people "very original"
and somehow frank gets a daredevil dose of some damn serum
(how original"
and he's immuned to this virus so ends up hunting superheroes
while the deadpool craze has now hit a crisis
he is also in this book as a dead to life running gag of a joke so to speak
for now, i give it a c+ rating
Yippeeee Kiyaaaaaa
Submitted by kwil786 on Thu, 2010-07-29 13:52I'm outta here people...off to the land where the deer and the antelope play (Really they literally walk through my back yard...but they're off limits to hunt...city limits ya know...smart little four legged critters)
Off to the big WY, blue skies, mountains, clean air...my older son and daughter will continue the tried and true tradition of picking up my comics from cosmic and mailing them to me...I'm not driving 270 miles round trip every Wednesday to pick up comics (Sheridan WY)...the U.S. mail will have to suffice. But I will still continue to post as I have since day one of the Cosmic Comics Web site!!!...
Keep it real...fresh...and above all...Keep it Cosmic!!!!!! READ ON!!!!!!!
Green Hornet Movie
Submitted by kwil786 on Mon, 2010-07-26 00:00Does the world need more laughter?....sure it does...but at the expense of a historically self motivated, knuckle busting, suave, hard nose, intuitive, and dramatically portrayed character such as the Green Hornet...No.
Don't get me wrong, I like Seth Rogen I really do, but historically speaking this just isn't the Green Hornet that should be presented to audiences hoping for a little action and adventure without too much slapstick...which this film tends to have. Not just that alone but the over tendency to just add wise ass "ooops did I do that" actions in the film as well.
Sadly another Green Hornet film can not be made after this one unless of course it follows the same trend of comedy and limp "!*ck" humor that runs amok; unbridled throughout the film.
This film might be great for younger viewers who just don't know about the 1940's and 1960's versions (serial and television) not to forget the radio shows as well, of a character with a heroic/historic family past. You have to wonder if the Hornet's blood relationship with the Lone Ranger will even be mentioned or at least hinted at. Yea, yea, yea I know the legal complications and all that, but at least a fair mention wouldn't hurt.
"The Lone Ranger property was sold to another company in the 1950s, which resulted in a legal complication that precluded The Lone Ranger being directly associated with the Green Hornet (though a comic book from NOW Comics depicted the Britt Reid's living room furnished with a painting of a man dressed very similarly to the Lone Ranger, and the radio series had expressly indicated the presence of just such a portrait hanging there)" - Wikipedia -
The present comics are really nicely done and I can only hope that the readers of the series can decide for themselves the version that best portrays the spirit of the Green Hornet.
Of course I'll see the film and probably enjoy it on a certain level...but the tried and true depictions of the past will always remain the best of those generations...it's just too bad that the powers that be felt that a little levity was needed in a politically correct sense.
But we'll see.....
IT The Terror From Beyond SPACE
Submitted by kwil786 on Wed, 2010-07-21 06:02A rocket ship is sent to Mars to rescue the crew of an earlier ship that crashed there. Only the captain of the first ship survived long enough to be rescued. When he told his rescuers about how a monster had killed off the rest of his crew, they all assumed that he had murdered them in an effort to extend his own chances of survival, and were ordered by the authorities on Earth to bring him back to stand trial for the murder of his crew. Due to the carelessness of one of the crew on the rescue ship, an airlock was left open through which the creature entered the ship. When first one crewman, and then another disappear, the rest of the crew starts believing Ed's story, and they suddenly find themselves all in a battle for their very survival.
Presented in 3 issues, get issue 1 before it's too late!!!!!!!!!!!!!
